2nd Grade Play

January 25th, 2008

The 2nd grade will present a play at the March 11th PTO meeting.  We have been learning songs in music class with Mrs. Wilder.  Speaking parts will be assigned next week.  Also, we will begin working on costumes and back drop soon.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Christmas holidays.  The following are some new events for second semester:

 Math

Students will be tested on math facts addition and subtraction 0-18.

 Writing

We will be writing a class book, which will be sent to a publisher to be printed.  Each student will write and illustrate his/her own page.

PTO Play

The second grade will present a play at the next PTO in March!

Holiday Events

November 25th, 2007

Stockings

We will celebrate the holidays with stockings.  I am sending a note home in Weekly Folders about this on November 27th.  I have purchased a stocking for each child.  On the assigned day, please send 19 items of the same kind so your child can stuff each stocking.  On the last day of school, Wednesday, December 19th at 12:30, each child will bring home his/her stocking filled with goodies.  Some examples of these items are, but not limited to:  pencils, erasers, crayons, small pads, individually wrapped snacks, small games, etc.  If you have any questions, please make a commet below.

Christmas Party

We will have our class party on Wednesday, December 19th.  We will decorate our own cupcakes!  I will be sending a note home with supplies we will need.  Thanks for your support!

 PTO

The 3rd Grade will present a play at the December meeting.

 Writing/English - Paragraph Writing

 Please allow your child to share anything related to these topics.

October Updates

October 10th, 2007

Besides Fall Festival, we have some other events taking place.

October 15 - Field Trip to Baker’s Farm

October 29 - Play

October 31 - Boo Breakfast! Come eat breakfast with your child.

Students can dress up on Halloween.  We will also have a class party around 1:30.  More information will be coming.

Fall Festival Updates

October 10th, 2007

We have a busy few weeks coming up.  Please take note on the following information:

October 12th - Fall Festival Poster Due

October 15th - Fall Festival T-shirt orders due $7

October 20th - Fall Festival Auction Basket Due

 Our class is responsible for the Carwash basket.  We need items such as soap, sponges, brush, bucket, tire cleaner, etc.  Please send these items in ASAP!

October 24th - Candy order money due

October 25th - Pumpkin contest due

 October 27 - Fall Festival 10:00-3:00

Our class is responsible for the slide booth.  Mrs. Mock will be calling parents for volunteers.  If everyone helps, the shifts will be short (30 minutes).

Grades Improved

September 24th, 2007

Great job on Sunrise test!  Everyone made an A!

Math fact test improved greatly.  Remember to study addition and subtraction fact 0-10.

Please sign and return field trip permission form and money.

Also, please write me a note if you’re interested in chaperoning our trip to the farm, October 15th.

Welcome to 2nd grade.  Blogging is a new experience for me.  I am grateful to Mrs. Forbus for encouraging me to expand my technology skills this year.  The purpose of this Blog is to educate my students and parents about what we are learning.
